2005 - Year of the Child

What's with all the missing American children this year? Does anyone else find this disturbing?..

.. are children not getting enough education to not talk to strangers?
.. are parents not paying enough attention to their kids??
.. or is the advanced technology simply making us more aware of these happenings?

I'm not just talking about missing 3-year-olds or wandering 11-year-old boy scouts. I'm talking: a pair of young kids in Idaho, an abducted teenager from Alabama, THREE missing boys in New Jersey.

Whoa.. that's just the last 40 days or so. And those are just the ones that make the national news; it's just the beginning of the list, really. There's still missing girls in Florida (MORE THAN ONE A WEEK!!), lost boys in California.. Boggles my mind and upsets my heart. How distressing it must be to be a parent in the year 2005. :(
